This study employs a scientometric approach to examine how the scientific literature corresponding to the concepts articulated in Clause Nine of the General Population Policies is structured at the level of a knowledge field. The issue is significant because this clause frames population not as an independent quantitative variable but as structurally embedded in spatial contexts and the biocapacity of territories, thereby carrying governance-oriented implications. The objective is to move beyond fragmented thematic readings and to extract the conceptual configuration of the literature and the dominant patterns underlying its conceptual linkages. To this end, data were retrieved and refined from the Web of Science database for the period 1934–2026, and thematic mapping and co-occurrence network analyses were conducted using the Bibliometrix package in R. On this basis, rather than introducing a new thematic proposition, the present study reconstructs the conceptual architecture of the existing body of literature at the macro level. It demonstrates that the concepts corresponding to the ninth clause within the existing knowledge base are organized according to traceable relationships and a discernible internal logic that do not become readily apparent when examining individual studies in isolation. From this perspective, the added value of the present research lies in transforming the apparent fragmentation of the literature into a data-driven structural formulation and, thereby, enabling a governance-oriented reading of the organizational logic underlying the body of literature associated with the ninth clause
