The integration of optical and laser technologies has significantly revolutionized reproductive health diagnostics and family planning, offering innovative, non-invasive, and highly accurate solutions. This article reviews the advances and applications of these technologies, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), ultrashort laser pulses, and artificial intelligence-powered diagnostic tools, in addressing critical challenges in reproductive health. Optical imaging systems offer unparalleled resolution and real-time insight into reproductive structures, enabling early diagnosis of conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and infertility. Laser-assisted techniques, such as embryo hatching and sperm selection, have increased the success rate of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) by improving implantation efficiency and reducing damage to biological materials. Despite these advances, challenges remain, including high implementation costs, the need for specialized training, and limited access in low-income settings. Ethical concerns, particularly around AI-based systems for embryo selection and fertility tracking, underscore the need for robust regulatory frameworks.
The integration of AI with optical and laser tools further expands diagnostic capabilities, offering predictive analytics and personalized solutions. The article also discusses the future potential of these technologies, including their convergence with nanotechnology, robotics, and regenerative medicine. affordable solutions are identified as key to bridging access gaps, while multidisciplinary collaboration is essential to address regulatory and ethical challenges. This article highlights the transformative potential of optical and laser technologies in reproductive health, emphasizing their role in transforming diagnosis, improving treatment outcomes, and fostering equitable access to advanced healthcare solutions.
