Investigate Mediating Role of Social Network Addiction in the Relationship between Social Support and Marital Adjustment of Working Women: Focusing on the Desire to Childbearing

The aim of this research was to investigate the mediating role of social network addiction in the relationship between social support and marital adjustment working women by focusing on the desire to childbearing in summer of 2023 year. For this purpose, 200 people were selected from the statistical population of women working in Shahid Beheshti Hospital of Shiraz city based on random sampling. Then Spinner (1976) Marital Adjustment scale, Zimet Perceived Social Support (1988) and Mobile Network-Based Social Networking (2016) were distributed among the research participants to answer. The findings showed that social support had a significant positive relationship with marital adjustment and a significant negative relationship with addiction to social networks (p<0.01). Also, the modeling pattern of path analysis showed the positive role of social support in marital adjustment as well as the negative role in addiction to social networks. In addition, the positive role of social support and marital adjustment in childbearing was also confirmed. Addiction to social networks has also had a negative role in having children. Overall, the results supported the hypothesis that social support causes less dependence on mobile-based social networks and increases marital adjustment and desire to have children in working women. Based on the results obtained from the research, it is possible to examine the determinants of other variables in the marital adjustment variable and to design and implement an intervention program based on increasing social support in order to improve the index of marital adjustment in family and marriage counseling centers.
